Happy New Year to you and your family from all of us at CHOSA!
We hope you enjoy our year-end newsletter, which contains stories from CHOSA staff and volunteers on the ground in Cape Town. As you will see, 2014 has been a busy year for CHOSA and the community-driven organizations we support. Your previous contributions have made our work possible, and yet the need for education and care for orphaned and vulnerable children persists. At CHOSA, we embrace this challenge and, with your help, we can make the world a better place for the children, the caregivers, and their broader communities. We take pride in facilitating local solutions to local problems, while promoting self-empowerment and keeping decision-making within the hands of the community.
CHOSA gives monthly grants to children’s homes and educare centers: On-going monthly expenses are the biggest part of the budget at our partner projects. These expenses include nutritious food for the children, school supplies, medicines, and electricity.
CHOSA hosts networking and training events: Networking events provide a forum for community leaders, teachers, and caregivers to get together and discuss their most pressing challenges and creative solutions. We have also organized training workshops focused on nutrition and first-aid.
CHOSA improves financial accounting and sustainability with capacity-building services. We provide all of our partners training on budgeting and finances. This means that we can confidently provide unrestricted grants to the teachers and caregivers, who are with the children every day and know what’s needed most.
You are an important member of the CHOSA community and we need your help. There is still time to support our work and make a tax-deductible donation in 2014. Donations in any amount contribute to the education and well-being of orphaned and vulnerable children. Make a donation today and make a difference: online or by mail.
On behalf of the CHOSA family, we thank you for your support and wish you a happy New Year!
