Your donation is used to directly fund grants to our partner organizations and communities in South Africa. These grants allow passionate community members to provide for orphaned and vulnerable children by establishing day-care centers, running after-school programs, and providing nutritious food and a safe, loving home for those who would otherwise be on the streets. They also support grassroots movements aimed at finding creative solutions to community problems, thus empowering children, families, and neighborhoods through collective action.

What makes us special? CHOSA strongly values self-determination in the communities we serve, so our grants are unrestricted, meaning that the community is able to use the funds for any activity which will promote the well-being of children in need. Because CHOSA is non-bureaucratic, community members hold one another accountable to make decisions that are in the best interests of the child.

CHOSA is a Non-Profit Charitable Organization. CHOSA has received 501c3 approval by the IRS. All donations are Tax-Deductible. We work hard to keep overhead and administrative costs as low as possible, so what we lack in fancy publicity materials and a fabulous office, we make up for in quality services to our partner organizations.
